1/2 Day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Overview
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is located 23 km offshore from Entebbe in lake Victoria. It is a forested island of 100 acres, it is accessed to by a speed boat or canoe boat. It provides a safe haven for orphaned chimpanzees to live out their lives, since cannot be returned to their natural habitat, that are free to roam on this wonderful island. It offers a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment.
Pre-arranged supplementary feeding times (11.00 am & 3.00 pm each day) bring the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway specially designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

Itinerary
Ngamba island is home to a variety of plants and tree species, wild water and forest bird species, beautiful but unique reptile species such as snakes and lizard varieties plus a beautiful lake scenery all available to make your safari a great.
Anyone who visits this magnificent island will quickly notice that the tour begins the moment you arrive at Pelican Lodge and Marina in Entebbe. Here, you are greeted by the sight of playful monkeys roaming freely and the melodic songs of birds, creating a delightful atmosphere that enhances the beauty of the surroundings.
There are only 2 shifts in which the boats cruise visitors to the island-the 9-10 and the 12-1pm (local time) setting off. It is therefore important you book in advance to avoid missing out because only a few visitors are allowed, each person is charged $150 including a tour in zoo.
