Ngamba Chimpanzee lsland Tracking Sanctuary
Ngamba Chimpanzee island Tracking Sanctuary is currently a home to 49 orphaned and confiscated chimps, rescued from the illegal pet and bush meat trade.The chimpanzees living at Ngamba have a safe and semi-natural environment in which to recover and eventually thrive over their long lives of up to 60 years.this chimps cannot survive in the real natural wild again, due to the changes of living life style.
Ngamba Island is located 23km from Entebbe and consists of an approximately of 100 acres of land with 98 acres of natural forest where the chimps roam and forage daily and are separated from visitors with electric fences.
Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, provides a safe haven for the orphaned chimps and also offers visitors a unique opportunity for close viewing of the chimps in their natural environment where the chimpanzees have the freedom to stay in the forest at night or return to nighttime enclosures where they can build nests and receive an evening meal. Their diet is supplemented multiple times per day much to the delight of visiting tourists who are able to observe the feeding from a viewing platform.
The island can be accessed in different ways: by flight recently introduced and it costs USD 980 but can be shared among four people who may use the helicopter and it takes only 15 minutes or you can use speed boat costs USD 280 if shared it comes to USD 80 and this takes 45 minutes or the traditional canoe boats cruise are also available to the island and cost USD 60 per person and it takes 90 minutes,
