Day 2: Gorilla Safari Uganda Tour in Bwindi Forest National Park
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the morning, gather at the park headquarters by 7:30 am for a comprehensive briefing on the thrilling gorilla tracking expedition ahead. Just like a seasoned hunter prepares meticulously, we too will be equipped with all necessary tracking gear, ready to venture into one of Africa’s most adventurous zones.
Following the briefing at the park entrance, which also serves as our starting point for the gorilla tracking adventure, we’ll delve into the depths of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest trails. Accompanied by an experienced guide, we’ll embark on the quest to locate these magnificent mountain gorillas. The duration of the tracking excursion varies depending on various factors, including the speed of the trekkers and the gorillas’ movements since their last feeding. It might take just a few minutes or extend to a full day before we encounter them.
Once we’ve found the gorilla family, we’ll have the incredible opportunity to spend an hour observing their fascinating behavior, from grooming each other to building nests. Afterwards, we’ll make our way back to the lodge where you can choose to relax or opt for a community tour to meet the Pygmies, the original forest dwellers known as the Batwa.
